On Thursday, August 30, 2007 Bestselling hiphop artist/author C-Murder talked exclusively with Conversations Book Club via conference call at Waldenbooks Metrocenter. The discussion was C-Murder's (aka Corey Miller's) third with the book club, and the conversation ranged from his book DEATH AROUND AROUND THE CORNER, his upcoming music cd as well as when he would be coming to Mississippi to do a booksigning.

At the end of the conversation, C-Murder made it official that he would be visiting Mississippi in October 2007, with his booksigning being hosted by Conversations Book Club. The date, location and time will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Cyrus A. Webb, President of the seven branches of Conversations Book Club has made it known that he hopes to bring the event to Waldenbooks Metrocenter in South Jackson, however, other possibilities include Borders Bookstore, Barnes & Noble and even the Wal-Mart Supercenter in South Jackson.

"Waldenbooks Metrocenter is like home to me," Webb relates. "This would be a wonderful opportunity for the store and even the Metrocenter Mall to really shine, though it will depend on a few factors where they will be the host of this major event or not."

Conversations Book Club's bi-weekly meetings take place at Waldenbooks Metrocenter every Tuesday and Friday at 6p.m., however, they also hold special sessions throughout the week.

Webb endorsed Miller's book DEATH AROUND THE CORNER IN February 2007, and first interviewed him prior to his national interview with shock radio host Wendy Williams. Webb led a discussion with Miller again in July 2007 with an audience of about 25 in attendance to encourage them to give the book a chance.

"It's not what you think," Webb says. "I told Cee last night (08/30/07/) that even I was hesitant when I first found out that he had written a book, but it is a powerful read and everyone from age 15 up should give it a chance."

Also present at the discussion were Andrea Ruffin of Waldenbooks, Ms. Rose Wright (President of the Savvy Book Club and a teacher at Peeples Middle School), E of Causin' Drama Entertainment and Jokah the General of the hiphop group Next of Kindredz.
